With over 15 years experience in recording engineering (over 25 years in music) you can be confident that owner/engineer Curt Piar will help you to get the results you're looking for. Curt has a "no ego" approach, and will play whatever role you wish, from "just engineer" to "music producer" and anything in between. Whatever your recording needs

PGS offers Digidesigns Pro Tools HD2, at very reasonable rates to suit your recording budget. Pro Tools is the industry standand in digital recording and editing software. We’re talking extremely powerful! With our recent upgrade to HD2, we now offer 96 tracks of pristine digital recording, featuring all the HD2 plug-ins + more, as well as Digidesigns top of the line flagship converter, the 192 i/o! Also, you have the choice to mix down to either our Otari analog reel to reel machine, DAT (Digital Audio Tape), or directly to the hard drive, and of course you can leave PGS with a CD of your recordings. We also offer bouncing from ADAT to Pro Tools! If you have some old sessions on ADAT and want to to bounce them to Pro Tools to be able to utilize all that mixing and editing power, we can do that! Hourly and 10 hour blocks rates are available. We have a special rate for ADAT to Pro Tools transferring. Contact us for our current rates.

Live Musician recording

Proving Ground Studio very much caters to "live musician" recording therefore capturing your sound (see "Curts philosophy of recording"). If you need professional musical accompaniment, Curt has the resources to find the right players for your project. PGS has a great sounding room with nice acoustics , “live” enough to add depth, but neutral enough not to be intrusive.
